TCRSF History

The first Twin Cities science fair was in 1939.

Prior to 1974, Twin Cities students had to win at state science fair to be named as finalists to ISEF. Beginning 1974, the Twin Cities Regional Science Fair affiliated directly with ISEF (managed by Science Services). Beginning in 1993, TCRSF added a second affiliation with ISEF - one for students of St. Paul - and one for the rest of the Twin Cities students. Beginning in 1995, TCRSF added a third affiliation with ISEF for the Western Suburbs. So that we can continue to service our unique demographics of the Twin Cities, we continue to manage three separate geographically defined affiliations with ISEF managed by Society for Science and the Public. TCRSF - the Twin Cities Regional Science Fairs - is plural to indicate that we are three separate but simultaneous science fairs servicing three geographic areas.

If you have a photo of one of our ISEF finalists, please send us a copy via email - and include the finalist's year of competition and name! We would LOVE to have a photo gallery of all our finalists! If you competed at the Twin Cities Regional and were named a finalist by state science fair, please also include your name and competition year with your photo as well - and include that you were named finalist at state.

If you have photos to share from TCRSF, please contact us. We would love to continue to add to our archives available on-line!
